Jordan: I'm not sure, but I thin kthat Cat's question was if he and Anne could get married. But I'm not sure. :)

Another book by Wayne Thomas Batson, this book is the second book of a 2 book series. The first is Isle of Swords. I recommend both for all readers 7 and up. The book follows Scottish pirate Declan Ross, his daughter, a monk, and a young man named Cat among other important characters.

Whom do they face? Bartholomew Thorne and the most evil band of cutthroats ever to sail the main. Descended from the Vikings of old they will stop at nothing to conquer Britain and destroy life as it was. Can Declan Ross prevent their cunning webs of strategy spun over centuries? Or will London burn?

Bartholomew Thorne has escaped and joins up with the dreaded Vikings, who have developed a new weapon of fire. Cat joins up with a band of priests, along with Anne, that are after the deadly Merchant, while Captain Declan Ross tries to stop Thorne and the Vikings.

Wayne Batson is back with his sequel to Isle of Swords, Isle of Fire, his best book in his pirate duology. With tons of action, piratey humor, and twists noone could see, this book is an incredible book for all!

This is one of the best diversion from the “regular world” that I have ever read. In this masterpiece of writing, Bartholomew Thorne, notorious pirate, is discovered to be alive by none other than Declan Ross, Cat, and Anne. However, this time, Thorne is after not only treasure. He seeks revenge, and the only way to get it is burning down London, capital of England. But Thorne will need help from the infamous Merchant, a dealer of the Black Market. Bartholomew Thorne will also need to enlist the Raukar, the only remaining believers in the Ancient Norse War God. With the Merchant and the Raukar, Thorne will easily pummel London. But will Cat, Anna, Ross, and several other former pirates, have the power and courage to stop him? The characters are all divided: Ross hunting Thorne, Anna and Cat hunting the Merchant and his associates, and Commodore Blake is helping Lady Dolphin discover her true identity. But will even the Commodore be able to do that? Fore the new king of England, who doesn’t even speak English, is degrading the Commodore off of the lies of a different commander.

This book is completely and totally breathtaking, littered with betrayal, violence, cannons, exploding fire, hurricanes… all the essential elements of a good book.

Gar, the pirate’s adventure keeps the eyes on the objective… in this book, the objective is the next page… at least for me. Declan Ross, captain of the William Wallace, must venture out and cross swords with the infamous pirate, Bartholomew Thorne, over the treasure of Constantine, the biggest treasure ever to cross the earth. But, the mysterious Isle of Swords is both difficult to find, and difficult to navigate. The Isle of Swords is not located on any map. Huge and treacherous waves protect it, and even past the waves, dangers lurk. Cross currents circle the island, leading searching ships in completely the wrong direction, without them knowing. Even past that, there are dangers. Sharp coral spears stick out of the water, completely surrounding the isle, with only one path through it. And after that, the visitor must dive through shark and sea monster-infested water to receive a key incased in stone, and travel through caves full of flesh-eating bats; unless, of course, you had a bucket of monkey pee ready. But even with all of the obstacles, will the fabled treasure of Constantine, which is more than gold and jewels, still be safe?

It only gets better than the last book, Isle of Swords. Wayne Thomas Batson's Christian adventure/fantasy book, Isle of Fire, picks up where its predecessor left off in a way that will inspire and amaze readers. Cat, who lost his memory in the last book, is slowly regaining memories- memories that could haunt him for the rest of his life and change his life forever. Anne Ross, the spunky, courageous, and redheaded daughter of Declan Ross, grows in her faith in God and also has her dreams come true in the most unlikely way. Declan and Commodore Brandon Blake embark on an adventure (separated for the majority of the book) that will tie up loose ends and inspire all. Let's not forget Hopper. A quick-thinking, resourceful young man who captures the hearts of readers. And finally, Bartholomew Thorne and a new villain, the Merchant. Thorne is dead, or is he? The reader also finds out how dangerous the Merchant really is as the story builds up to a huge battle that will determine all. With a beautiful beginning, great building up of the story with the development of many characters, and the epic climax involving fire rain, I highly recommend this book. Now one small problem I had with this book was a flurry of action. It was a little bit hard to follow here and there, and I felt that at times it was very fast-paced, perhaps too much so. The settings and point-of-views varied quite a bit, but it wasn't too much a big deal. I just had to go back a reread now and then to let what I was reading soak in.

This book is EXCELLENT. Like its prequel, Isle of Swords, it is full of mystery and danger. Cliffhangers abound. The characters face underwater labyrinths, hurricanes, fire rain, and berserkers, to name a few of their challenges. The characters are unique, the plot takes several surprising twists, and the whole tale is woven together with extreme care. Please try this story; I don't think you will be disappointed!
