Now, though, I do not. Instead, such clothing is my normal attire. ;) (I have to do something with the things I make for practice! :) ) Except, I do not have a cloak. :( Well, I do, in a manner of speaking. But it's not a real cloak, thin and impractical. (also needs to be shortened... dragging two inches on the floor, it is a tripping hazard) If  you can wear your cloak, you're doing good! :) I wonder if anyone would trade books for clothing... hmmmm! (not like I would have the time or ability to make such clothes, but still, it's an idea...) Your costume sounds beautiful, Amanda K.! I used to dress up a lot with Medieval-style clothing, but there's rarely any time for that nowadays. Fun, fun fun. Seriously. :) Anyway, here's a bit of randomness that should fit this thread: I made a full medieval outfit last week. That is, finished it last week. Ankle-length, full skirt, poet shirt, and bodice. My avatar is the drawing I did for it. (fyi, I'm trying to be a costume designer. I didn't make this outfit's pattern, but I did do a costume drawing beforehand and it turned out that the two looked very similar. :) ) Oh yes, I made a pair of bracers too, but those were for my brother Dieki Kondrael (username), not me. :) Anyone else here like to sew/ wear medieval outfits on a regular basis? People ask me that and my mind goes blank. Ah...it's a departure from the "epic" fantasy/spiritual thriller type of things I've been doing. It's sort of a Southern Gothic fiction thing (Southern Gothic is a sub-genre Harper Lee coined with her "To Kill a Mockingbird", basically revealing stereotypes for what they are with the story set in the South). A blend of that and psychodrama (another sub-genre). I rather break rules with genre in my pieces. :-P Happy Father's Day to you men out working in your garages; you see your kids running down the stairs at breakneck speed, precariously skidding to a halt beside those old bookshelves you put up last year for the overflow of literature, and you watch in open-mouthed wonder as your kids grab books off those dusty shelves, books you bought at flea markets and never figured anyone would read them. Thus is the fate of those fathers whose children are legal bookworms.
