I know that this movie isn't coming out until 2010, but news stories are starting to appear all over the place.

    Right now, we know that...

    • They have changed directors, the new guy is Michael Apted.
    • They are filming some of the ship scenes in a huge water tank in Mexico.
    • Trumpkin will be in the movie somewhere, but we don't know if he's on the Dawn Treader or not.

    Anything I'm missing?

Let me think... There'll be a new composer, although I can't remember his name at the moment. And I know they had narrowed down their choice on actors for Eustace, but nothing's been confirmed on that yet.

It'll be interesting to see who they pick for ol' Eustace Clarence Scrub.

Oh, thanks, Ruth. David Arnold is the new composer. He did (does?) the music for Adventures in Odyssey and Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre. So I think he's already done some Narnia music!

I thought that was a different Dave Arnold...maybe not? But isn't the AIO Dave Arnold one of the producers or something, not the composer?

Anyhow...I wouldn't mind scenes with Trumpkin back at Cair Paravel though they seem sort of pointless, but having him on board the Dawn Treader will mess up the first sign in SC. Not sure how they plan to work around that.

Okay, I did some research, and he apparently is not the same Dave Arnold from AIO. Good catch.

More news--they're getting new writer(s). I have no abiding love for Markus and McFeeley, none whatsoever, so I'm immensely happy to hear this.

727 days! And I'm already much more excited for VDT than PC. How strange.

I'm really looking forward to it. "Voyage" is my favorite in the series.

He sounds like a good choice. I haven't seen Amazing Grace, but it sounded pretty good. I hope he other two guys are gone, 'cause that's not definite yet.

Amazing Grace was really good. ^_^

I'm really annoyed that Caspian and Susan kiss. I was watching a thing about the movie premier, and it was mentioned. -_- Hollywood seems to think they can't have a movie, or movie series, without that kind of thing.

But! But but but! The new interviews on NarniaWeb have more than one person saying that they cut most of it, so the kiss is more of an impetuous "goodbye!" sort of thing. :D (can you tell that I am very excited about this little tidbit?)

Although, that was about PC in the VODT discussion. For some strange reason, this forum has no move feature.

Eeeep! I posted it in the wrong place. *Covers head in shame*
Lolz, sorry about that. I will try to refrain from the said offense in the future. And that's at least a bit brighter, though they shouldn't be kissing at all!

Oh, no problem, Lanna. We only severely punish people on their second offense around here! *is kidding of course!*

I really hope they do a good job with VotDT. It's my favorite book in the series, and I think that the imagery and descriptions are the most beautiful. I can see the Shining Sea, and Deathwater, and the Island Where Dreams Come True so clearly in my mind. I don't want them spoiled by the movie makers. I almost don't want to see the movie, because I am almost positive that they can't make them as beautiful as I imagine them.
