…or, more correctly, what games do you play all the time, like to play, can play, are terrible at playing, hate playing, are obsessed with playing…
Shall I stop now???
November 3, 2008 at 9:14 pm #44409I like to play Risk, but it’s tough to get people to play it with me.
November 3, 2008 at 11:25 pm #44410I don’t like playing Monopoly.
November 3, 2008 at 11:52 pm #44411I’ll play just about anything, but I prefer games that have more chance than strategy.
November 4, 2008 at 2:12 am #44412Me too, Ben.
One game that I’m pretty obsessed with is called Annoy and it’s really simple. The goal is to get as many people off the hook in announce as you can in the shortest possible time. The prize: a black eye.
November 4, 2008 at 3:01 am #44413As you can probably guess from my Risk comment, I’m a strategy person. I don’t mind a little bit of chance, but I prefer that most of the object of the game is based on my ability to outwit the opponents. Good brain exercise.
November 4, 2008 at 3:11 am #44414I usually prefer a balance between strategy and chance.
November 4, 2008 at 8:32 am #44415I’m not really a board games person, my dad and 2.5 brothers are great fans of Axis and Allies, Settlers of Catan, etc etc etc…but their attempts to convert me have been unsuccessful thus far

Favourite board game is probably Balderdash. My friends and I end up playing drama-ish games like freeze tag a lot…not the running-around sort, but when two people act something out and someone informs them that they ought to freeze and replaces one of them and thinks of something else to act out. Wrong name probably. Games like that sound so dull when it’s just someone writing about them. Alas.
My siblings are far too fond of Annoy. It seems to be an inborn trait.
Though my sister is so vexable that I cannot resist playing it myself when the occasion calls for it.(I really can’t resist when it’s my saying “Alas!” and randomly bursting into song that she objurgates. *slaps self*)November 4, 2008 at 8:09 pm #44416*needs to ask her sister to remind her how Balderdash works* If I remember correctly it’s a good game.
Ah, Freeze Tag. I have never participated in one of those but they’re a great deal of fun to watch.
(My siblings and there friends play them after church, I believe.)
November 4, 2008 at 8:15 pm #44417I think I played Balderdash once…
November 5, 2008 at 12:28 am #44418When I was babystting for several homeschool families after a co-op we did in the fall, we played Freeze Tag so much that I don’t loik it now!!!
Ohhh, Balderdash!! I love that game! Only played it once but I loved it! We loik doing chess around here and Camirryn used to play all sorts of brain-twisting computer games when we lived in Arkansas. The Girls and I love playing charades, and we’ve devised all sorts of quirky games including movie, book and listening tape characters interacting, as well as folkses from my writings. Anyone heard of Homeschoolopoly? That game rocketh!!!
November 5, 2008 at 1:01 am #44419I prefer strategy games, like Stratego, Goblet, Tic-Tac-Toe, Citadel, and Clue. I also like word games like Boggle and Smart Mouth. Don’t like Scrabble much for some reason though. I rarely play any of these games however, because my sis doesn’t like word or strategy games, and my little brother usually beats me in strategy.
November 5, 2008 at 3:31 am #44420I enjoy Tic-Tac-Toe, but no one will play it with me ’cause I’ve basically figured out how to win every time, or at least tie.
November 5, 2008 at 12:56 pm #44421I’ve heard of Homeschoolopoly, but I haven’t gotten to play it! It sounds neat.
November 5, 2008 at 3:54 pm #44422Oh Ben, how dreadful!

Homeschoolopoly is really cute!
I think I would loik Scrabble, but the only time I played it I got all confused. I once won a chess game in under ten moves! The Girls are actually very good at playing chess, tho’ some of our strategies are debatably legal.
