Oz books

We all enjoy the original fourteen L. Frank Baum Oz books very much, and have them listed among our favorites. After L. Frank Baum died, Ruth Plumly Thompson began writing books about different adventures in Oz. She wrote one every year for a total of nineteen new Oz books. I have only read a few of them, but I haven’t enjoyed them as much as the originals. Things just don’t seem the same, along with several obvious differences, one, for example, being that L. Frank Baum’s “Nome King” became the “Gnome King.” Of course, no one knew the Oz characters as well as L. Frank Baum did, and his sense of humor and clever puns remain unparalled. However, I thought Ruth Plumly Thompson’s books deserved “honorable mention,” so here’s the complete list with links to Amazon.
