Socks for Supper
A poor old man and his wife want something other than turnips to eat, so they trade socks made from the man’s sweater to their neighbors for milk and cheese.
There’s not much to say about this one, except that it’s a short, fun book with a delightful ending.

This is one of my favorite stories to read to children. It is fun for both the adult and child to share together. The message is that we work to eat, but we find enjoyment and surprises along the way. A good book to illustrate the abundance vs. scarcity contrast mentality and its implications for daily choices.
