The Black Stallion Series
Walter Farley was born on the 26th of June, 1915, and The Black Stallion, his first book, was an instant hit when it appeared in 1941. He continued writing books about the black stallion and other horses, and he died shortly before the publication of The Young Black Stallion, which he wrote with his son, Steven Farley.
If you’re looking for very good books about horses, the Marguerite Henry books are excellent. The Black Stallion series is an enjoyable series, and they’re very adventurous and heart-pounding at times, but most of the Marguerite Henry books are based off of historical facts, and can be more educational. However, if you love horses, and are trying to find books about them anywhere possible, then we recommend the Black Stallion series very highly.
