Jules Verne
Jules Verne was born on February 8th, 1828 in Nantes, France. When he was 11 years old, he ran away to sea where he was soon caught and sent home in disgrace. He vowed that from then on, he would travel in his imagination only. He certainly fulfilled his vow by writing many wonderful science-fiction/adventure books before he died on March 24, 1905.
Books by Jules Verne include:
- 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
- Around the World in Eighty Days
- Journey to the Center of the Earth
- The Mighty Orinoco
- The Mysterious Island
This is by no means a complete list. We have discovered that Jules Verne wrote over 40 novels about imaginary scientific discoveries and innovations.
