One night, a caterpillar hatches and finds that he is very, very hungry. He eats and eats and eats and eats and eats — and soon is a big, fat caterpillar. Then he makes a cocoon….
A nice, colorful, humorous book. I like it.

Charlie is an old workhorse. His owner, Mr. Spinks, thinks he is too old to work, so he retires him and gives him a field that only grows chickweed and thistles. Charlie misses his working days. He misses especially the times when Birdie, the cook at the Boar Head Inn, rang the bell, telling that the apple tarts were ready, and the people would come to eat them, including Mr. Spinks. So, one day…
A cute book. Though a pretty quick read, it’s still a good book! I like it.

George Washington Allen is a young boy who knows almost everything about George Washington. Their birthdays are even on the same day! But one morning, George realizes that he doesn’t know what George Washington ate for breakfast, and he is determined to find out. His grandmother promises to make him a breakfast just like George Washington, and the search begins.
This is a fun little book. A definite must-read for Washington’s Birthday, (oh, and George W. Allen’s birthday, too!).

Bert Dow is a fisherman who lives with his sister, Lulu, along with his pet giggling gull. One day, he sails out to sea in the Tidely Idely to go fishing, along with the giggling gull, and hooks a whale tail! Adventures with whales follow.
This review may not sound interesting, but please read Burt Dow, Deep-Water Man! A good book, in my opinion.

There’s a mouse in the Park Snoot Hotel! Everybody says there is no mouse, but manager Josh Posh calls in the professional mouse catchers Hyde and Snyde to make sure.
This is one of my absolute favorite picture books. It’s great fun to find the mouse on every page. Note to those reading out loud: This book is much more fun if a different voice is used for each character!
