Chester Cricket Books
George Selden was born in Connecticut and he first had the idea to write The Cricket in Times Square when he was coming home on the subway one night and heard a cricket chirping amid all the hustle and bustle. The Cricket in Times Square became so popular, that George Selden was requested to write more. Tucker’s Countryside soon appeared and was followed by the entire Chester Cricket and His Friends series.
