Kim Chu takes her father’s special big, black umbrella with her to the library, though her grandmother warned her not to. Kim’s father’s umbrella was presented to him when he won the contest of drawing a dragon. The bamboo handle screws off and inside is an intricate scroll, that says that Mr. Lin Chu (Kim’s father) is the winner. When Kim Chu accidentally leaves the umbrella at the library and quickly returns to find it gone, it’s an adventure/mystery for both Kim Chu and Mae Lee.
A pretty good book, in my opinion. It’s a fairly short book, though not a little picture book. But it’s not as large as The Mysterious Island (which I haven’t read). Enjoy!

There’s a mouse in the Park Snoot Hotel! Everybody says there is no mouse, but manager Josh Posh calls in the professional mouse catchers Hyde and Snyde to make sure.
This is one of my absolute favorite picture books. It’s great fun to find the mouse on every page. Note to those reading out loud: This book is much more fun if a different voice is used for each character!

Pierre is a boy who doesn’t care about anything. What will it take to make him care?
This is a charming story. I put it under the category of Younger Readers, but even though I read much more advanced books, I still love Pierre.

Almost everything is ready for the new baby—almost. Aunt Lily, who had helped when Tom and Lucy were born, hasn’t arrived yet. Cousin Dinkey tries to fly Aunt Lily over, through the snow storm, and Aunt Lily falls out of the glider, as she didn’t have her seatbelt fastened. The Littles organize a search party and Little men, including Tom, set out to try to find Aunt Lily.
This probably isn’t one of my favorite Little books. I think I like The Littles and the Lost Children better.
