MemberI’ve never seen anything in 3-D, so I don’t quite know what to expect. It sounds cool though!

MemberNo kidding! I’m really excited that it is for sure happening. I think it will get a lot more publicity than what PC had because of the fan’s love for it. I think VDT is a fan favorite for sure.

MemberTrailer tonight at midnight! (For once I am glad to live in PST
) Anyone staying up to see it?

MemberI didn’t, though I did wake up an hour afterward and geek out over the fact that the trailer had been out for an hour! And then I couldn’t get back to sleep…

MemberI watched it this morning! What did you think?
I thought the whole Edmund wanting to be king thing feels repetitive now that they did it with Peter in the last movie. I wish they had not done it up so much with Pete or found a fresher take on it this time. The line about ‘the fate of Narnia resting on you’ annoyed me a bit. I understand why they did it, but I wish the world didn’t have to be in epic danger again. (What is it about fantasy and the entire world being in epic danger every other minute anyway?) Overall, I was thrilled. Lucy looks so much older! I absolutely love the Dawn Treader; it is the most ridiculously beautiful ship. Can’t wait for the movie!

MemberMy main annoyance is with Edmund’s line. But I liked how he was trying to enlist! Reminds us that this is still war-torn England. Otherwise we risk forgetting what year it is.
The whole glowing-blue-sword makes me think ‘are there orcs about?’
And otherwise, we’ll see how things go…

MemberI agree with the whole thing about Ed acting kinda like Peter… why do it again? *sigh* The Dawn Treader is stunning. The “signing up for the Army” thing was… interesting. Anyone know what that’s about? Ah, well, wait and see… Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, you know, that scene where they are all there and it looks like they’re in Narnia? What do you think about that? My brother and sister think it’s a flashback between LLW and HHB. Look here for the trailer:

MemberLast night was fun… Facebook was like five minutes late posting it so people were complaining (sheesh), and then NW crashed for a bit, and then I stayed up far too late reading everyone’s comments about it.
Anyhow, I didn’t have very high expectations, so it was pretty good. Ramandu’s Daughter looks radioactive. The hackneyed, generic fantasy phrases got on my nerves and if they do to Edmund what they did to Peter I’m going to be irate. How many times must we go through the “poor me, I was a king and now no one takes me seriously so I’m going to be angsty and arrogant about it” routine? Here’s hoping!
Loved the Dufflepuds, Eustace (the little we saw), and the glimpses of the end of the world. And Coriakin and the library and the book! The whole tone of it was so bright and blue–I’m glad they’re not trying to make it Dark, Gritty, and Epic like PC.
I was REALLY hoping that they wouldn’t turn the Lone Islands into an action scene Just Because We Can. The way the book gets around it by not turning it into a battle is much cleverer.
I like that they’re adding some more wartime Britain parts and I could totally see Edmund trying to sneak into the army.
I hope the Susan and Peter thing is a flashback too, but they’re all against the same background while the younger two are wearing their Dawn Treader clothes…
Narnia.com has been updated. Not much new info, but some gorgeous pictures!

MemberI’m under the impression that Edmund isn’t being arrogant about his former kingship, more that he’d like to show his battle prowess. We’ll see.
I wanted to hear Caspian’s voice, so I’m rather disappointed with that aspect. And I don’t know about everybody else, but I’m frankly quite glad that they’ve added some action parts. Especially in the slave market. It always seemed weird to me that Pug never put up any fight when Caspian put him out of business.June 17, 2010 at 8:30 pm #41416Alassiel
MemberThe bit with all four Pevensies might be something that was just filmed for the preview; they’ve had a few of those before.
The sea of lilies is almost how I imagined it. The whole thing was gorgeous.
I was hoping to hear Caspian’s voice too! He was hardly in the preview at all. Hopefully we’ll see more of him in the next trailer.
A bit of action would be great, as long as they don’t overdo it.
I do want to know what’s up with the glowing sword…

MemberOh, my goodness! Who’s seen the trailer? Awesome! I think that Caspian looks kinda weird with a beard. Would you call that a beard or goatee? I call it a beard right now. Anyway, Reepicheep looks the same, well, he’s Computerized, so…Anyway. Awesome trailer!

MemberI’ve seen the trailer multiple times.
I’m happy with the magician’s library/book/himself… The glowing sword looks like the same effect as for the Star’s daughter, but it’s on a boat with dark fog, so maybe it’s a continuation of the dream sequence with the Witch? Could it have anything to do with the effect when he broke the Witch’s wand in LWW? It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, so I may be wrong.
Looks like they got a good actor to play Eustace. Do we know for sure if the shot of all four of them is in the actual movie? Susan and Peter’s costumes look familiar, so I’m suspicious if they just stole footage from the earlier movies. I guess they wouldn’t have put it in unless they were planning to have them show up at some point, though. *shrugs*June 19, 2010 at 10:23 pm #41419FunshineSheppard
Member“Are you eighteen?”
“Why, do I look older?”
LOL!! Yeah, that is just Peter totally.PC
“I when people just treat us like kids!”
“Um…We are kids.”I don’t know if that’s accurate word-for-word, but that was funny!
June 20, 2010 at 3:13 am #41420TahiriVeila
MemberUm… FunshineSheppard, the first line you have up there was Edmund, not Peter. I think I might actually buy movie tickets if my sibs and I can’t win them from a local radio station like we had for LWW and PC. ; )
