I thought The Tale of Despereaux was a very good book, even though it is below my reading level. The end of the story ties everything together perfectly. When I was done reading it, I immediately told my sister that she needed to read it.
When The Tale of Despereaux came out as a movie, my family went to see it. It was good, but the book was (as in most cases) better.
I really recommend this book to everyone. It also makes a great read aloud book.
I heard it when my family listened to the audio book together. That was a long time ago, but I remember liking it. I just recently saw the movie too, and loved it!
I felt like the story had potential, but the author kept trying to talk to the reader, which she was really bad at, I thought. Haven’t seen the movie yet.
I have read it twice but now in school my teacher is reading it to us ( can you belive it I man we are already in 4th grade) even though I think everyone has read it but probably not because kids in my class don’t really like to read! 8O
It’s not so bad it’s just that it’s so annoying if your not reading it yourself. And also she reads so slowly and most of the time she doesn’t even read it.

“'Mrs Who, I wish you'd stop quoting!' Charles Wallace sounded very annoyed.
Mrs Whatsit adjusted her stole. 'But she finds it so difficult to verbalize, Charles dear. It helps her if she can quote instead of working out words on her own.'” -- Madeleine L'Engle,
