On a scale from one to ten, what would you rate them? I’d do 8 1/2; how did the like the overall ending of the series?

I FINALLY FINISHED ANNE OF WINDY POPLARS!!!!!!! (Cheering and appalause, raoring crowds, adoring fans and flying roses)

Dad and my sibs are liking A Bear Called Paddington…

Probably somewhere around your rating, Pip. The ending as in the whole thing with the Summer Country? Well, it is kind of sad. And for some reason I don’t really care for the last paragraph.

It’s good so far. I’ll post more about how I’m liking it later because I’ve only read the first chapter.

I love the audio version of that, read by Norman Dietz, because I don’t have to try to figure out how to pronounce all the scientfic names.

I just finished it. It was pretty good! I found that Brian Jacques likes to cut abruptly to another scene. :) (Sort of a spoiler…)The duel between Matthias and Cluny was neat.

But you get used to him cutting abruptly. That’s pretty much the style for everyone now-a-days, so anything else modern you read will likely follow that pattern. I remember that Redwall was one of the first books that I read with that feel, so I can relate.

The other style for books now is leaving a cliffhanger ending at the end of a book in a series. That gets really annoying.

Now that I’ve finished Mossflower and Redwall, I’ve been reading Mattimeo!
