I appreicated the wit and humor of Mad Dogs and an Englishwoman by Polly Evans.  A middle-aged British woman spends time in Canada’s Yukon Territory to learn all about sled dogs and sledding.  My brother-in-law raises sled dogs and it was amazing how accurate a picture she portrays through her writings.  I’d say a book for 13 yrs old and up.
