MemberThis is TOALLY OFF TOPIC, so if anyone is annoyed by that git outta this thread for a few hours!!! Does anyone like the smell of theatres? I love them!
October 30, 2008 at 7:54 pm #40465Alassiel
MemberI haven’t been in theaters enough to notice that they have a distinctive smell.

MemberWhat movie did you see, Sarah? *hopes it was a good one!*
I notice them smelling like buttery popcorn and darkness. *wonders if darkness can
have a smell* O’course, I don’t go very often but when I do…I don’t care if folkses think me weird, I’d rather tip my head back and breathe in deeply than mind what people would think and not at all. That sounded weird, but oh well.

MemberHooray for the dollar theatre! I actually went to see LWW with my three sibs. (No, I wasn’t the one driving! That would be a singularly henious experience in the extreme)

MemberBut all the dollar theaters in my area are disappearing!
November 3, 2008 at 9:40 pm #40471Sarah
MemberUh oh! That isn’t good.

MemberAll the dollar theatres in my area burned down. *sniff* Methinks some advocate for $14 movie tickets is on the loose, or perhaps the expensive theatre hired a band of pyromaniac ninjas.
*ignores the fact that her town only ever had one dollar theatre*
I saw LWW in theatres four times and PC twice (one time was free). Yeaahh, you can tell which I liked better.

Best of luck in surviving until December, all you unfortunates who must wait for the DVD!
Haven’t noticed a theatre smell here either. *shrugs* (“Smell” sounds so negative. Let’s say “aroma.”) I haven’t seen a non-Walden movie in cinemas since Return of the King.
There’s one cinema around here that they’ve used as a set for Smallville (the whole show is filmed around here I think, not that I’ve ever watched it) and it’s either from the 40s or made to look like it was from the 40s, one screen, curtains, vintage decor, very cool.

MemberOoh, yeah that would be cool!
Lucky you! I hadn’t even heard about LotR until one Christmas when Camirryn got the movies fer Christmas, and we up and watched ’em one night. She and the Girls huddled on the couch, Katsy with a pillow for her eyes in case it got too violent, and me sitting all intense on the chair. I dunno how old I was, but I definitely wasn’t 13.
*gets back on topic with a blustery blowing of the shnoze*
December second!!! We have it in our Netflix que, but I’ll bet there are tons of those unfortunates who didn’t git ta see it in the theatres so they all have it in theirs, as well.
