Member*squeals in a absurdly fangurlish manner* Woohoo! That’s awesome. Lovely pictures, finally we get to see Clary! And the synopsis sounds shockingly close to the book (unless they’re still taking their info from the book instead of the movie…) though of course there’s still plenty of room to mess things up.
Was Sul, whatever his name was, even in the book? Maybe he just had a really small part.
*is staying far away from the videos*
I wonder who’s composing the music?
edit–Found it! it’s Andrew Lockington, who did Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Another article
edit again–Also, new poster.
Yet another edit–A negative review that talks about the pipeworks monster AAAAAH. (some language)

MemberVery nice behind the scenes video on Yahoo.
The videos aren’t too spoiler-y. Just don’t watch “Control Room” (major plot spoilers in one little glimpse!) and you’ll be okay. The others are actually somewhat from the book, especially “May Your Feet Be Fleet”.

MemberSaw it yesterday, thoughts here, because I’m lazy and because it’s time to go make dinner.
It was close to the book in a roundabout sort of way–fairly similar plot-wise and almost identical characters-and-themes-wise. I much enjoyed it.

MemberOh, that’s good to hear. The media certainly punished it for being a good story, didn’t they? As much as I’d love to see it right now, I’m probably going to hold out until it hits the dollar theater. The way the movie is doing right now, I don’t expect that to take too long…

MemberWhatsa dollar theatre?
October 17, 2008 at 1:09 pm #43470Jordan
MemberIt’s a theater where the tickets (used to) cost a dollar. They get the films after the first-run theaters are done making money on them. Cheaper, dirtier, smaller screen, but the theater experience for a buck (matinee).

MemberNope, hadn’t seen that. I had seen PluggedIn’s, but they obviously didn’t read the book first.
Really, I like and dislike Christian movie reviewers. I like them because they’ll always tell you what inappropriate in the film. But I really dislike it when they get nitpicky about bad guys calling names or laughing at the good guys. Come on! That’s what bad guys do! /rant

MemberHeh, I agree–it’s not just Christian reviews though. Kids In Mind, for instance. (Egasp! A man eats with his fingers!) Look at the whole thing, not just the details!

MemberOh yeah, from Kids in Mind again…
We see bottles of liquid in a storeroom but it is not clear what it is.
Puh-leeeese.

They’re probably picky cause different families have different levels of what they consider appropiate, and they don’t wanna git sued by the slightly over-conservative folks out there.

MemberHey, the DVD is up for preorder on Amazon! Release date: January 20th, ’09. Bother, I have to wait awhile yet to see it.

MemberThey chose my birthday to release it. How thoughtful.
And the soundtrack is out now too, finally.
Is it long gone in your theatres, Jordan? Here it stayed for maybe…a week. 0_o

MemberIt’s in the dollar theaters, but I smell a conspiracy, since all the cheap theaters closed just as Ember hit them.
