MemberHas anyone ever read Inkheart? Or it’s sequel, Inkspell? This thread is for these and other books by her.

MemberI’ve read both. I liked the first one pretty well, and disliked the second. Have you read them?

MemberYes. Actually, I remember starting Inkeart on a quiet, breezy night and then being apprehensive about going to bed. I also took it with me to take a shower, and never did because I got so wrapped up in reading. I loved Dustfinger, however, and nearly threw Inkspell across the room when she decided to kill him off. Until the next book, but still! The only other person worth liking was maybe Basta…I have a friend who really likes him. I dunno. Reminds me of pasta. *snickers*

MemberReminds me of…well, nevermind.
I think it was supposed to, though. An ugly-sounding name.
I liked Inkheart and didn’t think so much of Inkspell…I hope she can redeem herself in book three, but her dire prediction of “there will be another boy” and *spoilers* the fact that Dustfinger comes back to life doesn’t make me too hopeful.
Inkheart was good though. The movie is taking forever to come out!

MemberOh I know! Ooh, I saw a picture of all the characters in the movie: Mo is hideous and I don’t mind sayin’ so; Meg is OK; Elinor…weeeellll, she’s ok I guess, not quite how I pictured her. The little Indian boy is weird but I disliked him anyway and I’m hopefully anticipating the guy who plays Dustfinger because sofar, he looks alright. (Now if he’s short and squat I am going to march outta that theater!)

MemberRead Inkheart, nothing else by Funke. I didn’t really like it a whole lot, it was okay…though I abhored the ending. I liked Dustfinger, though, that might only have been because of his name, not sure. I intend on reading Inkspell sometime in the next few days.

MemberDON’T!
Dragon Rider stank, BTW.

MemberWhy not? Negative reviews are always so much fun to read.
I quite liked The Thief Lord (especially the non-fantasy parts) but I never got into Dragon Rider…I think I returned it to the library after the first two or three chapters.

MemberOK, go ahead and suffer, Owan! We will look forward to your agonized screams.
Ugh, The Thief Lord was bad too! I’m sorry, but Inkheart was the only good book she actually wrote!
I believe the movie’s comin’ out May 2009…*grr*

Member*is amused* Let us know what you think, Owan.
Aye…the movie has been pushed back so many times that I have no idea what the current release date is any more.
Why didn’t you like the Thief Lord? I is curious.

MemberI just didn’t loik it! The writing was bad, the plot soupy and it wasn’t interesting AT ALL!

MemberHey, I don’t know what I’m doing in this thread, ’cause I haven’t read Inkheart… yet. Today I found the movie trailer, and I have it on hold at the library right now.
Oh yes, the trailer. Here ya go: http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/inkheart/
