MemberI hate summer. It’s too hot and humid here, and all I feel like doing is moping and watching movies. We watched Prince Caspian and I nearly died of envy when they had the water fight in the ocean. Cool, wet water!

MemberBut summer is when the Read-a-Thon is! And that starts in five days!

MemberLOL! I don’t like heat either. Staying inside reading, writing, and running my Etsy shop works for me!!
The tags for this topic are hilarious…

MemberSeriously? I made it and a while back, once I resurrected my IB account, I saw the tags and just groaned.

MemberDitto to random.
And on the subject of random…I took a walk last night and ended up walking around six miles. It was dark by the time I got back, and we live in the middle of the woods, so it was deliciously spooky.

Volunteering at the library now. Very fun.

Writing again; over 60K in my current book.June 17, 2010 at 8:36 pm #43907Alassiel
MemberI’m supposed to be making a treasure hunt for my brother’s birthday on Saturday, but I’ve been wasting time all day. I’m sorta uninspired, with a buncha half-ideas. I really need to get away from the computer (and stop watching the Narnia trailer over and over again!)

MemberRandomness: *Has watched the VDT trailer seven times*

MemberWhat kind of book are you writing, Pip?
(I’m doing development on a sci-fi/fantasy kind-of-epic, attempting to pin down a label for genre…haha)
June 20, 2010 at 7:32 pm #43910Pip
MemberHa, loaded question. People ask me that and my mind goes blank.
Ah…it’s a departure from the “epic” fantasy/spiritual thriller type of things I’ve been doing. It’s sort of a Southern Gothic fiction thing (Southern Gothic is a sub-genre Harper Lee coined with her “To Kill a Mockingbird”, basically revealing stereotypes for what they are with the story set in the South). A blend of that and psychodrama (another sub-genre). I rather break rules with genre in my pieces.
Happy Father’s Day to you men out working in your garages; you see your kids running down the stairs at breakneck speed, precariously skidding to a halt beside those old bookshelves you put up last year for the overflow of literature, and you watch in open-mouthed wonder as your kids grab books off those dusty shelves, books you bought at flea markets and never figured anyone would read them. Thus is the fate of those fathers whose children are legal bookworms. It is never boring. -
