Meindert DeJong
Meindert DeJong (pronounced Dee-Yong) was born in Holland in 1906. He emigrated to Michigan with his family during WWI. In WWII, DeJong was drafted as a historian and sent to China.
Many of DeJong’s books are set in Holland or America. The House of Sixty Fathers is set in China and is based on DeJong’s experiences there. Meindert lived to write twenty-seven books before he died in 1991.
