William is taking a bath, and his mother tells him not to run the faucet more than a minute longer. But when his brother Walter tries to make the water come out faster and the handle breaks off, William is in for a wild ride down the whole apartment building!
This one is absolutely hilarious. As William and the bathtub go from floor to floor, the downstairs neighbors are swept into the current and join the fun. The neighbors’ names and their “boats” all rhyme. For instance, “Patty Fuzzle steered her puzzle.” I still read this one!

When Austin Webster brings home a digital camera from a garage sale and takes a picture of his Aunt Jessica’s prize winning beagle, the beagle, whose name is Applet, disappears! Austin and Ashley, his sister, are both sucked into the computer and get separated. Austin and Ashley go from site to site, trying to find Applet and each other. As if that weren’t enough, a Ms. Mattie Blankenskrean (try saying that out loud) is reprogramming or just plain erasing things such as people praying or a hymn. Can Austin and Ashley find each other, find Applet, and get Ms. Blankenskrean’s PDA, which she is using to reprogram and wipe out?
Warning: this book ends on a cliff hanger. If you’re thinking about getting this book as a present for someone, then you may want to buy book two of the Hyperlinz series, Fudge Factor. This book is recommended by Mrs. Donita K. Paul, author of DragonSpell and DragonQuest. You may find this book a little confusing, because it flips back and forth between Ashley, Austin, and Aunt Jessica. However, I like this book. Aunt Jessica is a fun character.

Steve and his friend Phil Pitcher (known as Pitch) go to Azul Island and discover a way to get into the interior of the island, which is surrounded by steep yellow walls. Inside, there is a pack of horses, led by a beautiful red stallion, Flame. Tom, Pitch’s step-brother, made a bet with them that if they actually stayed on Azul Island two weeks, as they planned to, he would give Steve his pick of the horses there. Will Steve be able to own Flame?
This book has underground tunnels, three stallion fights, discoveries… in other words, adventure. I found The Island Stallion to be confusing at points, but it’s still a pretty good book. The next book about Flame and Steve is The Island Stallion’s Fury.

A poor old man and his wife want something other than turnips to eat, so they trade socks made from the man’s sweater to their neighbors for milk and cheese.
There’s not much to say about this one, except that it’s a short, fun book with a delightful ending.
