MemberThe version I have is called I am David. Hey, I watched the old Pride and Prejudice (suffered through it, is more accurate) and wasn’t very impressed! The Seeker, Jordan, wasn’t really violent, there was just a lot of mysticism and fantsay-style elements. It’s about this kid who’s trying to find these “signs” scattered all throughout time so this nutty Rider guy (he’s really cool!!!) won’t destroy the world. He is aided by the Old Ones, ‘ageless’ dudes who have magical powers. It’s a light against darkness thing. The Princess Bride, in my opinion, was only salvaged by the what’s-his-name male hero. Anyone ever seen Citizen Kane? Old-timey and prfoundly sad!

MemberYou said the what’s-his-name male hero. Do you mean Inigo?

MemberUh…I mean the guy with the blond hair and the funny black suit. I wish It’s a Wonderful Life was based on a book! Man, I love that movie!!!

MemberWestley?
I liked him quite a lot while he was the D.P.R/Man in the Mask/whatever–as himself he was not quite as interesting.
Inigo Montoya is awesome.
House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer (anyone read that?) would make a good movie…or maybe it’s just that with some books, one can see them played out so clearly in one’s head.

MemberOh, NOW I know who you’re talking about…no, I hate Inigo! The Door Within would be an awesome movie, as good as Narnia if they spent their time wisely. I think someone actually was considering making a movie of that! And they’ve made little cartoons of Redwall and Mattimeo…if you haven’t seen ’em, see ’em! They’re some of my favorite cartoons, and the rodents are adorable!

MemberAnd, speaking of Redwall…

MemberThe Door Within might be interesting… I’m definitely NOT puristic about those books and would be looking forward to seeing how they were changed, sad to say.
A Redwall movie, wow. Wonder how that will turn out? I’d be quite happy if they scrapped the animals and just made all the characters human. *ducks flying objects*
I think my siblings watched the Redwall cartoons and liked them. I should get them out of the library sometime.
*still looking forward to Alice in Wonderland*

MemberAn Alice in Wonderland movie is coming out?

MemberYeah, Door Within would make a good movie. I heard there was someone interested, but I don’t know what happened with that.
I’ve seen some of the Redwall cartoons and didn’t like them much. Interestingly enough, they are what got me into the books. My dad had bought Redwall at B & N and said I might like it. However, if you’ve read the paperback versions, you might know that there is basically no descriptions on them. All I knew is that the book was about mice who lived in an Abbey, therefore I decided it didn’t sound all that interesting. A while later, I was at a friend’s b-day party and saw the Redwall cartoon, liked it, went home and read the book. Now I’m a crazy fan.

MemberYou go, Alassiel! I started Redwall a few days before my 12th. b-day and gobbled it up in four days. (Back then, that was fast reading:)) An Alice in Wonderland movie? Heaven forbid! That book might be mastered with animation, but not with real people! I hope that’s not what you mean…

MemberIt’s going to be a mix of live-action and whatsitcalled, motion capture thingummy? (Oh how brilliant Alyosha sounds). Tim Burton is directing. I haven’t seen much else about it.
June 17, 2008 at 4:00 am #42365Pip
MemberOh. Welllll, let us wait with clasped hands and eyes lifted skyward. (Poetical me!) Tim Burton rings a faint bell…did he direct or help to direct something else?
June 17, 2008 at 11:50 am #42366Jordan
MemberOh dear, that sounds nasty. Tim Burton directed, among other things, such films as The Nightmare Before Christmas, some R-rated horror flick last year, and The Corpse Bride. *shudders at the thought of a creepy Wonderland*
