    Thanks!

I’ve never read Watership Down, but it’s sitting on me shelf!

I read that the cartoon version of WD isn’t really a kids’ movie, despite being animated, but I haven’t seen it. Ought to, someday. The book was good. :)

The Door Within violent &etc? Hmm… Did you see LOTR? Because I can’t see TDW being anywhere near that intense–probably more like Narnia.

Yeah, somewhere along those lines, maybe in between…I just hope that if they do make a movie, they’ll make Robby cool (cause I loved him) and they won’t make Aidan plumpy, as described once in TDW; that made me mad! I don’t picture Aidan as being fat!!!!

Same here! I noticed that line when I was re-reading and did a double take.

No, I haven’t watched LOTR, because it would be to intense for me.

Anyone ever read or watched Lorna Doone? I hated the book and liked the newest adaptation they made, though the sweethearts left things unsaid, and it was like you could hear the words floating between them, unspoken. It drove me nuts!

I once tried to read The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and didn’t get through the second chapter. Now, years later, I may try again. I LOVE the Disney version of that, it’s so multi-layered and well-made; the funny gypsy man that flies around making everyone excited it sentimental to me, because besides loving him over any other character, I fashioned one of my own book characters after him.

Pip here again; speaking of movies vs. books, what about plays vs. books? I’m in a play (a musical) of Little Women, and I must say that the book is a lot better! (Although it doesn’t have the “Boy at Dance”, which is ME! And yeah, I play a boy; I’ve got a voice leaning on the deep end and an even deeper singing voice.)

I found out a few months ago that Captain Blood is based on a book, and that’s one of my fave movies!! :-)

I read Hoot the book,by Carl Hiessian (or something..I think) then watched the movie. The book was better because it had a lot more to it. (Also, since the second main charater actor, played in Hannah Montana as Hannah/Miley’s (ex)boyfriend…it kinda ruined it) But I liked the second character!

    Never heard of that book.

Holes the book was very good, and the movie was just a bit nastier (tho’ I was interrupted near the end and never came back to it). Aw, I’d had some book that I was gonna say would make a really good movie, but I just forgot it! *piteous tears*

Pip here again; I just got a movie based on “Rebecca”, one of those dry old things everybody never thinks to read. I’m trying to git through it now. *is horribly pompous* The librarian says it’s a good movie.

I remember my older sis and I just got done reading McKinley’s “Beauty” and decided to drive to town and rent Disney’s Beauty and the Beast cause, as she said, “The book got us all mixed up!” Anyone know where the original Beauty and the Beast legend came from?
