MemberWhat about a Christmas Break Reading Race? (A short race ’cause isn’t Christmas break only two weeks long or so?)
Maybe also Reading Groups and go through books together? Maybe two groups the adventurous one that read books that haven’t been reviewed and need reviewing and another group for revisiting favorites? The discussions could get interesting I have no doubt.
Anyways. That didn’t really go in the Read A Thon ideas thread but is still offtopic, sorry.

MemberIf you’d like to start a reading group around here, go ahead. That’s perfectly fine with me! Do you think we might need a new board for reading groups? (Anybody speak up on this)
The problem with doing more than one Read-a-Thon per year is that most of the “draw” comes from prizes. There’s nothing that says that when Christmas Break comes around we can’t all just have fun seeing who can read the most, though. If you want to start it, go for it. Put it in the Games board, though. The Read-a-Thon board is really for “official” Read-a-Thons.

MemberReading Groups could probably also go in the Games section…
You could make it a Offical No Prize Read-Off, you know.
On NWeb the prize for the various art contests is a user tagline. A few words under their avatar. And second and third place winners get “bragging rights” so you can talk about your winnings in your signature.

MemberHm. I wonder if this forum will let me create a tagline for a user. That’d be fun!
I’m off to see if I can make a sub-forum of the Games board for reading groups.

MemberI just checked, and I can create a custom title, so if somebody wants to make a read-off or something, I’m willing to give out a custom title or two as prizes.

MemberA Reading Group sounds like fun.
I’d probably join.A Read-off sounds great. Christmas might work, or something sooner would be good…

Member*places dibs on the title “The One Who Is Thursday” before Alyosha does*
Which is deffinitely considered counting unhatched chickens. You can take the title, “She Who Shall Not Be Named Anything That Is Not Russian”, Alyosha.
Hopefully we’re allowed titles that have nothing to do with our accomplishment.

MemberSarah would need to be Mrs. incredibooks. But then if you do use the Mr. incredibooks one, its makes them sounds like they are married!
