Yeah, same thing here.  I got the confirmation email though.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody. I’ve tested it and I get the same results. Not sure what’s causing that… I’ve added a note to that effect on the page, though, until I have time to look into it further.

Whoo-hoo! I’m so excited. And this year it looks like I’ll actually have time to read. Yay!

We have a new blog post up, everyone. And it’s announcing something extra special we’re doing this year.

I love the promo video, that was hilarious.
I tried signing up and consistent with the complaints of a happy little “success” signification, my request seemed suspended in cyberspace. However, we’ve been having messy weather down here, and I didn’t get a confirmation email. Could you give me an average of how long a confirmation email would take to be sent out? Or should I redo my sign-up?
As for the enthusiasm portion of this thread…*confetti* Whoot! I was criminally oblivious to how soon the RAT was starting because we’ve been so busy lately, and I’ll probably fail miserably this year because our busyness is going to continue, but it’s good to have that extra motivation so when spare time does spring upon me, I don’t use it up doing something else besides reading. *grins*

Pip, sorry about not getting a confirmation to you earlier. I send those out and I was on vacation for the weekend. *oops* Should be there now. :-)

That’s okay, I just wanted to make sure. Didn’t want to base my chances of getting into it on the sloppy internet connection. ;-) Confirmation email received, thanks!

The Bookmark posts have begun! Check out the website if you’re looking for book recommendations for this summer. B)

This is my first year, and I’m excited to give it a go!  Thanks to Jordan for posting a notice on Christian Filmmakers.  (You might want to do that again, now that it’s closer, and see if you can interest anybody else.  Tell them it’s the coolest summer reading program ever – all the cool kids are doing it.)

I do have one question, though.  If I started reading a book before June 1st but don’t finish it, can I count the pages I read AFTER June 1st in the RAT?  (For example, if the book is 200 pages and I read 50 before June 1st, can I count the other 150?)  Or do I need to read the whole book during RAT to count?  I was told Bible reading counted, which led me to believe you didn’t have to read the whole book to count the pages, but I’m a bit confused by the rules page.  Thank you.  :)

Whoa! RoadToGrinnell, sorry it’s taken me so long to notice this. You must have gotten caught in our spam filter for some reason. I’ve rescued you (only six days late, right?). :-P

To answer your question… We’ve generally gone by only books started on or after June 1st count. Mostly because we didn’t think anybody would keep track that of how many they’d read before the Read-a-Thon started. But if you know how many pages you read before June 1st and you can subtract those accurately from the book’s total, go for it. :-)

In response to complaints about the heat on the random thread, we’ll be turning pages so quickly that we won’t even need fans.
I figured that books begun on/after June first would count, but it’s killing me, having all these library books just sitting in my room…
I might be a little lax in getting started; my SAT is June fifth. Blasted timing.

Can we read books we’ve already read? And are there any restrictions on the genre of books that we read?
