MemberI think my favorite part of The Door Within books is when Robby enters The Realm. I love that part!

MemberMy very favorite part of the whole series was in the first chapter of the first book:
“I’ll never deny my King.” *in goes the sword, screaming and hurling and etc.*
Glorious!

MemberI made the mistake of reading about The Seven Sleepers last night. Those things creep me out.

MemberI realized a little ways into Door Within that it was not a good series to read late at night, despite the fact that I would have loved to stay up to the wee hours of the morning with it.

MemberI seem to have trouble learning that fact! I’m trying to get through the scary part today so I can read more tonight, but it’s nerve-racking for the rest of the book.

MemberYa think? That’s funny! I tend to stay awake jumping after every sound after I’ve watched a scary movie, but books don’t bother me.
Except The Dark is Rising books, esp. the one by the same name. That did make me want to sleep with the lights on!
What are y’all’s favorite characters? I like Robby and Aidan’s fine, the girl drives me nuts, tho’. Robby’s Glimpse is also quite nice, and Paragor is lovely and villainous.

MemberGenerally I don’t get scared by books, though I do get jumpy after reading too much Sherlock Holmes
Favourite characters? Don’t like Antoinette; she’s so jolly perfect. For some reason I don’t like Aidan either, maybe he just has the wrong combination of insecurity and pride for my liking. Robby is good–he seems to have more character development than the others, sort of like Edmund. And I like whatshername who was part of the Fellowship…she had silver hair and had seen tragic events I think? I haven’t read the books in a while.

MemberI like Kaliam, and Nock and Mallick. I don’t know about the 3 kids, I guess I like them all. Robby’s dad is really scary for some reason.

MemberI’m guessing you’re refering to Lady Merewen, Alyosha.
I don’t know who my favorite character would be.
July 1, 2008 at 7:20 pm #40401Alyosha
MemberRight, Merewen, that’s it. I know it was some Welsh/Elvish sounding name…
July 2, 2008 at 3:18 am #40402Pip
MemberOooooh, yeah! Robby’s dad rocked. I loved his sinister-ness. Creepy!
Merewen was boring. She didn’t do anything except have a cool name!
July 2, 2008 at 8:06 pm #40403Alyosha
MemberOk, yeah, the cool name might have made me a little biased

MemberLol!
I really loved the part in the…first book? where Aidan tramped down the stairs and ended with a big THUD, because I do the exact same thing.
I recently spent the night with a friend who loves the series as much as I do, and we did a thing where one would read aloud into a tape recorder, and the other do sound effects to go along with the readings! We came up with some really funny ones:
“Grampin wheeled into the kitchen” *car tires squealing*, “and stopped at the table.” *brake sounds used vehemently, a crash*

MemberLoL. Sounds like fun!
I finshed The Rise of the Wyrm Lord, but I’ve got to wait to start re-reading The Final Storm until I get some library books read. Ah, the problems of “due dates”. At least we get three weeks to keep the books.

MemberMy Inter-Library Loan request for The Final Storm was finally filled! Now I just need to read it.
