MemberGood ‘eavens, just the titles would scare me away!
I finished reading a Robin Hood book…has anyone noticed that he HAS to be enemies with everyone he comes in contact with? It just seems that way to me.
I also read a bio on J.J. Audobon (I do not like him!) and I’ve started “Trusting God” and “David Balfour”, the sequel to “Kidnapped”.

MemberOoh, let me know what you think of David Balfour, Pip! I am waiting for my library to get it on interlibrary loan.

MemberWeeeell, I’d read some outta it a long time ago but then the soupy library just had to have it back, so I forgot all the things I’d read. Now, I’ve started back…and I’ve only gotten thro’ the first chapter! Stevenson isn’t my fave author.
Has anyone ever read anything by Rafael Sabatini? As his name suggests, he writes pirate stories and I’m thinking about looking into some of them.
Ooh, and I’ve started reading “The Last Dragon”…ok guys, that book is an official runner-up for Pip’s Shelf of Favorites!!!!!!!

MemberI’ve read Scaramouche–it was pretty good though toward the end I had no idea what was going on and couldn’t wait for it to be over (no idea why; I should try it again). I love the first lines of that book…
Currently reading: lots and lots of nonfiction…

Nightbirds on Nantucket, by the lady who wrote The Wolves of Willoughby Chase…Joan Aiken. It was actually verra good!
Oh, have you read any of the other Wolves Chronicles? Dido and Pa and The Cuckoo Tree are most excellent. Though I suspect that I’m repeating myself here…but they are.

MemberRafael Sabatini is such a awesome name.
Someday I’m going to read his Captain Blood book–another awesome name!

MemberI know! Rafael Sabatini is so much fun to say! So is Scaramouche! The movie Captain Blood rocked, and I’m considering reading the book (if I can find it, ahem!).

MemberI’m reading All My Holy Mountain right now. We’ll see how much I like it.

MemberThanks for the suggestions, C Triebold!
I finished Pearls of Lutra. Grath’s poor boat… it gets broken 4 times.

MemberI’m mostly reading The Story of the Von Trapp Family Singers. It’s very interesting. I like how Maria writes.

MemberI’ve finished All My Holy Mountain, and now it’s time to start Last of the Nephilim!

MemberHow was All my Holy Mountain?
I’m reading Dragon’s Keep by a request from a friend; it’s ok, but there are too many charms and spells and such to keep away evil or misfortune, when all they really need do is pray!

MemberIt was pretty good. But, I was so surprised… It didn’t end abruptly! :o

MemberI thought the first book, Beyond the summerland, ooh I don’t know. I spent the entire weekend, every moment, reading and was finally getting into it, and loving all the characters, and I stayed up late reading past midnight to finish it. I almost cried! It was a good book, but I hate it too. Yet I’m still reading the next one

MemberThe next four are much better. I have problems re-reading the first one now, ’cause I know what happens.

MemberHmm, I thought the next one was the worst in the series. Then of course there was the two cheesy ones after that. You’ll have to write a really good review to make me read the fifth. Just goes to show ya haw different peoples tastes are.
