MemberGreetings, bookworms! I am pleased to announce that y’all have read over 250,000 pages combined so far this summer. In other words, a quarter-million pages. WOW.
But we’re not done yet! You still have a few days to get your totals in. Be sure to post your pages on the reporting thread by 6am CT on August 14th. Pages posted after that time will not count towards your total! If you haven’t totaled your pages, hurry!
And if you haven’t read much this summer, there’s still time! Remember, you don’t have to read the most to win. Everyone that posts at least one book is eligible for the random drawings. But you won’t be entered if you don’t post something – so get out there!
In the meantime, be on the lookout for more details on the prizes in the near future. The organizers are getting their act together to award all these fantastically amazing prizes that have been donated to us. Keep your eyes peeled and spread the excitement!
Also, don’t forget that the deadline to order your Read-a-Thon 2011 t-shirt is August 20. If you haven’t seen them yet, take a look! Not only are you getting a great shirt about reading, but you’re also helping to cover some of the costs of hosting the Read-a-Thon. You can get yours here: https://incredibooks.com/read-a-thon/read-a-thon-shirts/
Let’s finish strong!

MemberI’m reading two books, which is surprising for me. A New Song (Mitford 5) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves.
Jordan
MemberIn past years, we have said textbooks count, again as long as you read the full page. So I think you’re good counting them.

MemberOut to Canaan by Jan Karon. 342 pages.
Running total: 342 pages.
(You people put me to shame every year…)

MemberWe’ve already said that graphic novels don’t count, so, no, comic strips do not count toward your page totals.

MemberBryan Davis says he has his copies of Song of the Ovulum and will be mailing them out to pre-orderers and contest winners! Yay!

MemberYou can most certainly read books that others have read! That’s part of the fun of the Read-a-Thon… You get to see what everyone else reads and learn about books you might not have heard about.
Which is also why we encourage everybody to post their thoughts on the books as they read them. It can be as simple as saying you recommend/don’t recommend the book, or you can go all out and do a mini review.

MemberHappy birthday, then!!! *confetti*

MemberWe have shirts available for pre-order now! https://incredibooks.com/read-a-thon/read-a-thon-shirts/
(Like last year, we’ll take pre-orders until the Read-a-Thon is over, then we’ll make them all at once and ship them out. That keeps the costs down.
)
*Personally wants a green one*

MemberYou people rock, did you know that?
