Molly Moore wants a horse more than anything in the world, so when her father takes her to a horse auction for her tenth birthday, she has dreams of a young sleek horse being her very own. But all the horses are too expensive except for one skinny old mare that her father thinks will be perfect for pulling carts and plowing fields. Lady Sue has a surprise for all of them, though, when she gives birth to a mule. Molly names him Brown Sunshine and begins his training. Her one dream is for Brown Sunshine to be King Mule on the next Mule Day celebration.
This one is much shorter than most of the other books by Marguerite Henry, but it’s still enjoyable, if slightly predictable. It’s a fun little story.

The farm animals are dreading the long, cold winter ahead of them. Then, a swallow suggests that they migrate! So a small party of animals, including Freddy the pig, head for Florida. On their trip they face many dangers, but always find some way out. But best of all, they bring Mr. Bean, the owner of the farm, a surprise present that will change their lives!
A great start to the Freddy series! There are some very funny parts.

This is the story of David, a boy who is considered to be a Moon-Calf by everyone in the village. When David’s friend, Hans Krout the Cobbler, tells David about his journeys up the moon-path, David wants to try it too. After a few attempts, David travels up the moon path to the moon, meets the Man-in-the-Moon and the Moon Angel, and also spends time in the Gardens Behind the Moon. Finally, David is sent on a mission to recover the Wonder-Box and the Know-all Book from the Iron Man.
This is a fun, easy book. Well, maybe not so easy. Half the time I have no clue what Howard Pyle’s talking about. This would be a considered a classic sort of fairytale, because, of course, David marries the princess at the end and has exciting adventures, but it’s still a very enjoyable story. So get out there and enjoy it!
