Eustace and Jill return to Narnia! This time, Aslan has been absent for a long while, but reports have come to King Tirian and his unicorn Jewel that Aslan has returned. Then a wise centuar tells them that this Aslan is a fake! Tirian tries to stop him, but ends up captured by the Calormens. Eustace and Jill must rescue the king and his unicorn and expose the false Aslan before it’s too late.
Sad to say, this book ends The Chronicles of Narnia. The battle at the end is great (it goes on for a few chapters). There are several sad parts, but of course, all comes right in the end. I think that this is a fitting end to the series, but I wish that C. S. Lewis had written more.

Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert live at Green Gables on Prince Edward Island in Canada. As Matthew is getting older, he can’t keep up with the work required in maintaining Green Gables, so he and Marilla decide to adopt a boy from an orphanage to help Matthew. The boy arrives soon afterward, and the boy’s a girl! Anne Shirley. She has an imagination that surpasses all others, and she immediately falls in love with Green Gables. But Matthew and Marilla aren’t sure whether Anne can stay or not. Soon, of course, Anne succeeds in capturing their hearts with her well-meaning ways, and Matthew and Marilla couldn’t imagine life without her.
All the characters in this book are so vividly portrayed, that they seem to be almost alive, and no matter how different you may be from Anne, you’ll still be able to find something in common, and soon you’ll be sharing in all her ups and downs. This, of all books, truly fits the description “heartwarming.” It’s one of my favorites.

In this, the final book chronicling the March family and their doings, Plumfield has grown up amazingly. They even have a college! The group of children from Little Men (the second book), star in this book, and are now young adults. Nan has become a promising doctor, Bess is more graceful and queenly then ever, Dan is still energetic and spontaneous, and many of the others are doing well. Jo’s Boys follows all of these young adults through their lives, ambitions, and yes, loves. Filled with humor and realistic experiences, this is a fitting climax to these wonderful books.
(Whew!) These books are hard to write reviews for! It must be a Louisa May Alcott thing. There is such an abundance of believability in them, mixed with humor and tragedy. And they follow so many different characters. But don’t think they’re confusing, on the contrary, they feel very natural and enjoyable. They can seem so real! Jo’s Boys itself is a fun book, hard to describe, but still great. Please read it, it is not to be missed.

Let me see, a book review that does this book justice? Practically impossible to write. Okay, how about partial justice? Sorry, can’t happen here. Alright, a review that hints in the barest possible way? I’ll have to stretch myself. In short, I can’t begin to describe how good this book is! The characters are so life-like and enjoyable.
This book is about a family. The father is away as a chaplain in the army, leaving the mother and four daughters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, at home by themselves. Meg is the oldest, Jo is tomboy-ish and dreams of being a great author, Beth is sweet, and Amy is an artist. They have all sorts of adventures in a wonderfully simple (or incredible) way. Please read this book. I haven’t even begun to give a vague hint of how great it is!
I will warn you girls, however, be prepared to cry! There is a very sad part. However, the rest can be absolutely hilarious! I’m going to go read it again right now.

Laura, Mary, and their Pa and Ma have left the house in the Big Woods. They have to travel for miles until they get to Indian Territory. There, Pa has to build a house out of logs. This is the story of the exciting adventures the Ingalls family has along the way.
This whole series is good to read. People acted a lot differently in the 1800s. It’s very interesting to see what they did different, what they thought was good manners, and what they thought meant you were rich. I took off a star because small portions are a tad slow, but it’s well worth reading.
