MemberIn Response to the Sept. 11 attacks, my family made a big patriotic quilt that we auctioned off at our library. It went really well. We were in the newspaper! Only, that day my mom made me wear this really ugly dress

I get a lot of books from the kids’ section, get mostly nonfiction from the adults’ section (or order the books beforehand) and go into the teen section only when I need a particular book, rushing back out as quickly as possible in hopes of escaping detection. (The contents [in general] of those shelves are another thing that causes despair.)
*hopes she doesn’t sound too snobbish*
*applauds uproariously at Alyosha’s statements concerning the teen section, then decides that if she’s a snob, he must be, too*

My library doesn’t have any Wii or any such thing. Maybe they have one in the mysterious B.
They do tend to have very outdated computer games of the worst in their genre. As for the whole ‘teen’ section, there is an AMAZING book called Do Hard Things by Brett and Alex Harris. Its all about doing hard things, changing your world, and not being comfortable with the low expectations that teenagers have. It was a wonderful book! Check out http://www.dohardthings.com

Memberhahaha you guys are all crazy! My library is stupid (besides that fact that it has wonderful books!) We have to drive 45 minutes away in order to use the library! The other two that are closer, we were going to have to pay a CRAZY amount of money so we could get a ‘new’ card, just to get to use it! So we use the old card farther away. The far-away library is big, but it stupid because I can’t enter any of the contests/reading programs/”place a hold” (which I sneak around
heheh), only because I live so far away. Also they have a TON of game nights for the teens. How strange is it for a library for cryin out loud, to hold gamecube, Wii, and playstation nights? Its a library for BOOKS!!!Ah. I feel better.

MemberSWWEET! He’s one of my favorite authors. He books are great(wonderful one-day-cause-you-can’t-put-it-down-books) but I also love the fact that he does so much stuff with his readers. That fantasy fiction tour he’s doing, and his blog is pretty cool. He was doing some big pirate-y thing for Isle of Fire.

I tried to read the hobbit, but couldn’t get throught it. I’ve only seen the movies.

MemberI read Hoot the book,by Carl Hiessian (or something..I think) then watched the movie. The book was better because it had a lot more to it. (Also, since the second main charater actor, played in Hannah Montana as Hannah/Miley’s (ex)boyfriend…it kinda ruined it) But I liked the second character!

MemberI’m really happy with Ed now, and can’t wait for the new movie! I think Peter had some problems in Caspian, and I wish he could have more visually worked them out before leaving narnia FOREVER. He seemed like he was still angry/confused/jealous/unhappy when he left. Now I know, I wouldn’t be very happy to leave narna “forever” either, but he still looked pretty cranky!
That kid looks great!(for a pain-in-the-butt kinda kid) I think I’m going to like the new movie
