The Diamond of Darkhold (a.k.a. the forth and final book of Ember), by Jeanne DuPrau: 285 pgs.

    TOTAL: 4,352

Review: It being the final book, it’s kind of sad to say “goodbye” to the characters. I feel like the author could have written at least 10 more books filled with adventures. But, I think the author was ready to say “goodbye” and move on. Oh well… the book in itself was great, BUT, the end was kind of… pathetic? I can’t think of a good word to use. I fell like it ended too abruptly. But, besides that, I think it made a good final book (even though many more books could have been written).

The Name of This Book Is Secret, by Pseudonymous Bosch: 360 pgs. (like A Series of Unfortunate Events)

The Penderwicks, by Jeanne Birdsall: 262 pgs. (like All-of-a-kind Family)

Timescape, by Robert Liparulo: 305 pgs. (amazing!)

Do Hard Things, by Alex and Brett Harris: 232 pgs. (good read)

Ark Angel, by Anthony Horowitz: 323 pgs. (a little too worldly for my taste)

Found, by Margaret Haddix: 314 pgs. (really good)

    TOTAL: 4,067

Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz, 388 pgs.

    TOTAL: 2,271

Review: This is the sequel to the last book I read. Unfortunately, it was (again) very violent, there was some inappropriate content, some language, and (honestly) just flat out evil. So, I’ve definitely read better books. Just to show an example of how evil some of the stuff in the book was, this is was “Scorpia” stands for: Sabotage, Corruption, Intelligence, Assassination. Need I explain more?

Eagle Strike by Anthony Horowitz, 322 pgs.

    TOTAL: 1,883

Review: I enjoyed the book, but, just a warning, it is a very worldly book. Unfortunately, there is language, several remarks that are inappropriate, and plenty of violence. I don’t usually read books like this, but since I had it, I just decided to read it and finish it. This book is not for the people who try to avoid worldly books.

The Prophet of Yonwood, by Jeanne DuPrau: 289 pgs.

    TOTAL: 1,561

My review: Honestly, not a good prequel. Only the last 3 pages makes it a prequel to The City of Ember.

    Third post!

    I read:

I Am David by Anne Holm, 239 pgs.

    TOTAL: 934

My review: There is a review on the cover that says “Read it, read it!” I agree completely. I Am David is a must read book!

    On to the next book…

    Second post! I read:

    Bridge to Terabithia, 128 pgs.

    TOTAL: 695

My review: It is a very good, and very sad book. The book speaks to me in the sense that we should never, ever, ever take anyone for granted. I recommend it, but (just a warning) there is some language. And (to the people who easily cry), you might want some tissues. I was close to crying, but didn’t.

    Yay! My first post! lol

1.) The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Field Guide, 107 pgs.

2.) The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Seeing Stone, 108 pgs.

3.) The Spiderwick Chronicles: Lucinda’s Secret, 108 pgs.

4.) The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Ironwood Tree, 108 pgs.

5.) The Spiderwick Chronicles: The Wrath of Mulgarath, 136 pgs.

    TOTAL: 567 pgs.

    My review of the series:

Honestly, the series isn’t terrific. It is one of the first times I can say the movie is better than the books. I’m not a big fan of magic, faeries, and “fantastical” creatures, so maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy the books. Also, the books are expensive! Each book is $11, so that’s $55 dollars for the whole series if you buy them individually (but, on Amazon, they have a deal for the box set for $37). But that’s my opinion. If you want to read them, I recommend that you rent them from a library, or see if a friend has them.

Now, I’m off to read another book… I don’t know which one though…

I saw that logo, and now I am pumped about the movie!!! It’s my favorite book in the series, so I’m really exited.

I have some adaptions that I am really excited about:

    1.) The Screwtape Letters (2010)

2.) The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (December of 2011)

3.) I don’t know if this counts, but it’s a sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth (the movie). Here is the plot:

The sequel will be based on Richard Outten’s script “Mysterious Travels: The Lost Map of Treasure Island,” in which Prof. Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) and his nephew (Josh Hutcherson) embark on a journey to a mysterious island that was the subject of three classic novels (Jules Verne’s “Mysterious Island,” Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” and Jonathan Swift’s “Gulliver’s Travels”).

So, yep, those are some I’m looking forward to…

I also really recommend the book, but a warning: it is not the same as the movie. I mean, of course it isn’t, but the book is still really different from the movie.
