Hmm…a weird mix of BBCode and HTML?

(The typos in my last post: OY. I miss my dear Edit button.)

Lord of the Flies… still. *is thoroughly sick of that book even though she liked it very much the first time*

And The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner… still.

AND! The Horse and His Boy! (What a surprize. Almost at the battle. And the I-was-the-Lion chapter is so, so amazing.

One more dawn, one more day, one day more!

If it’s like NaNo, then midnight. :P

“Printer’s devil” is the real term for that–he wasn’t just using it for the sake of using it. If that makes it any better. :P As far as I remember the illegal activities weren’t that far removed from the Resistance printing anti-Nazi literature during WWII, but I haven’t read it in a while so that might not be right.

I did have issues with some of the ethics in that book, just not those parts. :)

Yes, I’d love to see what you think of it too!

Computer problems? oy. *shudders* All manner of condolences to Rebekah. :P

I was wondering the same thing. I’m not a huge Alexander fan, but Westmark is my favourite of what I’ve read by him.

It’s just mythology…I don’t know, I never thought of it as anything different than the centaurs and fauns and Bacchus in Narnia.

I do like her real-life books better than her fantasy stories though.

*weeps* But we only got two people to answer those thrilling questions!

Some people haven’t see the movie yet I don’t think…

I’m reading The Horse and His Boy to my brothers, Lord of the Flies for school (thank goodness I’ve already read it, I have five days to do the entire novel study!) and The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner in between everything else. After two months with Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell all of those books feel so light, when I pick one up I wonder where the other half is. :P

The people at my theatre were generally well behaved, except that they all laughed during the bit with Peter and Edmund during the duel–the shoulder relocation and all that. Ack.

Did you think that the first Lucy and Aslan scene was a dream, or not? Everyone else I talked to did, but in an interview they said that they wanted to leave it open to interpretation, so I’m going to pretend that it wasn’t. :P

I didn’t even notice that about This Is Home. Despite the weird title I liked Dance Round the Memory Tree more, actually…it just fit the mood of the movie better.

So are you going to see it again? *is scheming*

I’ll join too. :) It looks like fun.

Though those blasted summer courses will probably get in the way again and my total will be embarrassingly low. Ah well.

Question: The other prizes, are they going to the people who finished second, third, and fourth, or just any random people, deserving or not? :P

    Ok. I saw it.

    And…

    [SPOILERS]

I don’t know. There were some parts that exceeded my expectations and some parts that had so much potential but just sort of failed… I loved Lucy and Edmund and (shock of shocks!) Caspian. Susaspian wasn’t so bad as I thought it would be, it wasn’t overdone The kiss was cheesy and the lines about “it never would have worked” even more so, but Ed and Lucy’s reactions to it were hilarious so I guess I can forgive that. :P

Until the very end Peter was absolutely horrid, I couldn’t stand him.

The River God was super cool. Forget Skandar and Will, I’m going to be a River God fangirl. ;)

There was a rather too much Battle, and this is not because I’m a book purist, I like watching battles but it gets to be all the same after a while!

Miraz was awesome. That bit with Sopesian/Glozelle (I always get them mixed up) and “How many men were lost?” “Three…” *shivers* Or whatever it was. Though actually I didn’t understand that part until my dad explained it to me afterward. The Night Raid was alright, and the ending of it was so sad… *likes sad parts*

Other favourite parts: The very beginning, the Cair Paravel/beach scenes, the drawings on walls, and the transition back into our world from Narnia.

Some cheesy one-liners were stuck into it, but they had a lot more lines almost from the book (I can’t remember any that were quoted word-for-word but they were pretty close). Still annoyed that they took out all the 1940s slang–not even “Bother, I’ve left my new torch in Narnia!” survived unscathed. Really glad they included that line though. And the “Geeky Boy” when he hears it looks so utterly confuzzled. LOL.

So yeah. Two main complaints: Peter, and the fact that it was ACTION ACTION ACTION all the way through at the expense of everything else (character development, Lucy/Aslan/Trees scenes [though I loved the bits that they did have] the “walk of faith,” Bacchus and Co., and the pacing–it rushes through everything else and then gets stuck on the battle scene for a frighteningly long amount of time).

Other than that I liked it. I want to see it again now…

    And I CAN’T WAIT until VDT! yayw00t!

Questions for the General Public: What was your favourite part? Who was your favourite character? Did you cry? Did the other people in the theatre say anything interesting? :P

[spoilers, but is anyone not NOT spoiler free here anyway?]

We already know that they do. ;) It’s supposed to be Susan kissing Caspian though, and then he hugs her…or something.

Might be seeing it tonight so as to preview it for The Younger Half…yay!

Aw, you can’t see it in theatres? *weeps*

As far as Spoilers go I’m a Pilgrim of the Middle Way…read all the articles, look at all the pictures, halfheartedly avoid plot spoilers, watch none of the clips or featurettes.

The two days between now and Saturday seem longer than the whole 2 1/2 years of waiting before this!

Plugged In Online has their review up.

I don’t get the three days thing (with the counter on NW); that means it’s going to be at 0 on Thursday morning even though you’ll still have to wait until midnight to see the movie.

edit–Nevermind, it says three days and twelve hours which works, I guess, but it still sounds overly optimistic. :P *slaps her pessimistic the-movie-will-NEVER-get-here self*

Five days for me…I am cautiously excited. :P

Spoilery Article (I think it was posted before it should have been)
