    I need to pop in here real quick and ask a favor of everybody.

    We’re double checking everybody’s page counts to make sure nobody makes any adding errors. It makes our lives a whole lot easier if you stick to the post sample from the rules. That means you post only finished books (not books in progress), and you post a running total at the bottom of your post.

    Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson – 232 pages
    Review: I keep getting caught up in reading these old books instead of the two I meant to read next (LotR and Beyond the Summerland). ;) Oh well… Anyway, I’ve never seen any Treasure Island films or read any abridgements. So I decided to try.
    Interesting (kind of short) pirate story. :) Suitable for a 10yo, I suppose. Memorable characters, original events, easy to follow plot. No swearing. No character arcs, unfortunately, it’s more like one of those adventure stories with no real point. Still, if you want to read one of the original pirate tales – this would be a good one. :)

    Ranger’s Apprentice Book Five: The Sorcerer of the North – 295
    They really try to make these books sound more mystical than they really are. There’s hardly a wisp of magic in it besides a little bit of mind control that’s just briefly mentioned as existing. Furthermore, I don’t know how he can call the Ranger’s Apprentice series anymore, seeing as how the MC is no longer an apprentice!!

    Ok, if you’re a younger child, don’t read this book, lots of language. Just a warning there, besides that, very good.

    Review. Cool ending to this series. I didn’t know what they were going to do to save the world *cough*s*cough* until the very end of the book.
