MemberI figured as much. It’s gonna stick around for a little longer at least so we can gather some stats on it.

MemberNew avatar option! But I need some people to test it for me…
This new avatar option gives you the choice to upload a photo for yourself. If you already are registered with Gravatar, uploading a photo will make no difference. So I need somebody or multiple somebodies who have no Gravatar account (that means those of you with designs) to edit their profile and try uploading an image.

MemberYes, I’ve heard something about a scene with a ***POSSIBLE SPOILER!!*** monster in the pipeworks or something like that. ***END POSSIBLE SPOILER*** Wonder what that’s all about. Not sure I like the idea or not.

MemberAs I said above, we had to email Mrs. Paul about some difficulties. We’re waiting for her to email back.
Jordan
MemberGuess I’m planning on it, too. Then again, since I’m organizing it, you might think it strange if I didn’t join in. One of those “cook eats his own cooking” type of things, I suppose.
Jordan
MemberExactly. That didn’t resonate to well with me (in case you can’t tell!). But the rest of the book was good! Very compelling.

MemberThey are basically post-apocalyptic fantasy. Not fantastical at all, which is one of my favorite parts. Something normal to read between the fantasy movers (of the universe) and shakers (of the storyline)!
I reviewed The City of Ember, probably would have a problem doing The Prophet of Yonwood, it’s kinda bleah. The People of Sparks is better written than the first one (and the third one), but the conclusion it comes to is less that satisfying from a Christian perspective. Not as a atheism type of thing, but the main characters decide to ****SPOILER!!**** love their enemies, just because if we all love, that will prevent bad things. Oh please. ****END OF SPOILER!!****
I’m really enjoying the fourth one, though. I have maybe a third of it to go.
So there’s your crash course in the Ember series.
Jordan
MemberHeh heh heh… I’ve stumped somebody! Search around the reviews, you’ll find it… BIG HINT: Try looking under the Dogs category…
Jordan
MemberAh! Doon’s kinda rebellious, and the kids do a few things that aren’t too good, so that probably explains “Thematic Elements”.

MemberThe interviews are going up about every other day. We have to post that quickly to get them up before the tour starts.

OK, tomorrow is talk like a Brit day! I’m sure we’ll have fun wi. that…
Jordan, could this thread be for “talk (or act) like a whatever”, so folks could find books set in different places? We could take turns declaring the genre.
Alrighty, go for it! Actually, yesterday was Talk Like a Ninja Day, so you had to be silent…
Jordan
MemberNow I’m finishing up the Ember series.
Jordan
MemberOkay, now IMDB has a rating. They say it’s PG for “Mild peril and some thematic elements”, whatever that means… *wishes they’d be a bit more clear with these movie ratings…*
