I’ve had the first book read to me. . . and I think the second one. I can’t remember, but I enjoyed them! (We actually just finished watching Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. Great movies!)

I’m guessing you’re refering to Lady Merewen, Alyosha.

I don’t know who my favorite character would be.

I seem to have trouble learning that fact! I’m trying to get through the scary part today so I can read more tonight, but it’s nerve-racking for the rest of the book.

I made the mistake of reading about The Seven Sleepers last night. Those things creep me out.

I’ve read both of those! Mama’s Bank Account was great.

I think my favorite part of The Door Within books is when Robby enters The Realm. I love that part!

“Where the Red Fern Grows” was really, really sad.

Same here! I noticed that line when I was re-reading and did a double take.

No, I haven’t watched LOTR, because it would be to intense for me.

I may just be looking at it under the wrong light.

Erm. . . I’m pretty sure the first one is. I can’t remember about the other two. *goes to look*

EDIT: Maybe not. The second on is right beside me, and it’s printed in black. My eyes must have been playing tricks on me.

Oh, how was Mutiny on the Bounty? I saw that one in passing and wondered about it.

Ahh. . . part of “Kidnapped” takes place on a ship, but it’s got more highlands of Scotland in it. (Although it’s really good.) Oh! How about Rudyard Kipling’s “Captains Couragous”? It’s about a rich, bratty millionaire kid who falls overboard off a steam boat and gets picked up by a fishing boat. Very good. Some language, though.

Whoo! Good for you! Isn’t it great to have an enormous stash of books?

No idea. . . maybe  ? Guess it didn’t work. Hmm.

I just don’t take graphic violence well. And spiders are NOT my thing.

Has anyone here seen the cartoon verison of Watership Down? I have only spotted the DVD on a shelf, but I’d think the makers would have to pretty much cut half the book to make it decent for little kids.

EDIT: Aha! It did work! Okay, it’s : lol : minus the spaces.

The Door Within books are available in paperback, plus they have the “lost chapters”. Chapters that got cut for the intial print run.

OH! Carry on Mr. Bowditch! That’s a great one.

We read a lot of books during school. It’s fun.
