How was All my Holy Mountain?

I’m reading Dragon’s Keep by a request from a friend; it’s ok, but there are too many charms and spells and such to keep away evil or misfortune, when all they really need do is pray!

Oh, I used Saxon for about a year and it liked ta killed me! Math-u-See worked with my little sisters for a bit, but then went downhill. The best math program I’ve used was Teaching Textbooks. At the beginning of Pre-Algebra, I could hardly multiply! At the end, I was booking. I used that program for Algebra 1 and 2’s startin’ this Monday. *gulps*

    *stifles rising dislike for Nesbit*

I’ve read all that Alassiel has. I didn’t really like Magic by the Lake as much as Knight’s Castle and Half-Magic.

WAAAHOOO! (Sorry.) Glad we have such a good turn-out for this thread! :D

I could go to Goodwill, git a bunch of 25 cent paperbacks, and then post them all into the system!

Pip here again; yay! My copy of the REAL “Hunchback of Notre Dame” came from PBS this evening!

Off-Topic: *after hiding behind something solid* Who pronounces it “no-truh dom” *lapses into molespeech* loiks oi doos it?

And, is it just me, or has Alyosha been readin’ too many high-falutin’ books lately? Her vocabulary has rapidly and suspiciously expanded. (Not that that’s a bad thing, mind ye…) 8)

Pip here again; since this thread is also for venting about cheesy books, I was under the impression that I was getting the real, classic version of Ben-Hur from PBS.com…well, the other day there was a tiny book that came, and I wondered furiously as I opened it because all the books I am expecting are novels. And guess what it was? “Ben-Hur: a Modern Adaption”.

*que the screaming and stomping and general pandemonium*

Needless to say, I marched upstairs and posted that dinky little papercover right back into the system.

Pip here yet again; right now for the nighttime read-aloud we are doing “The Great Turkey Walk”, which rother rocks.

Yay! School is starting in one more week! My fingers are itching to read all those good-looking books!

What’s goin’ on in y’all’s school?

Pip here again; jordan, could you give me s’more details about Book Mooch? I visted their site, but I still don’t entirely understand how it works. Business with PBS.com has been dragging dreadfully…(you don’t want some books, do you Alassiel?!)

I know! Rafael Sabatini is so much fun to say! So is Scaramouche! The movie Captain Blood rocked, and I’m considering reading the book (if I can find it, ahem!).
