I borrowed Mom’s Kindle to read “Phantom of the Opera”, and found myself wanting to turn pages. Apparently page-flipping isn’t as satisfying on an electronic device.
*shamefully ends her off-topic spiel* I had to say it! I’m innocent!

In response to complaints about the heat on the random thread, we’ll be turning pages so quickly that we won’t even need fans.
I figured that books begun on/after June first would count, but it’s killing me, having all these library books just sitting in my room…
I might be a little lax in getting started; my SAT is June fifth. Blasted timing.

Isn’t the Books of History business the majority of what he’s written, and all of them are connected just barely? He’s made it way too hard to keep up with the ins and outs of his brain. :-D I’ve read “Skin,” “Thr3e”, “Showdown,” “Adam,” and “House” by him and Frank Peretti. I think I prefer DeKker over Peretti, though, the morals for DeKker’s stuff seems to dig deeper than Peretti.

Seriously? I made it and a while back, once I resurrected my IB account, I saw the tags and just groaned.

That’s okay, I just wanted to make sure. Didn’t want to base my chances of getting into it on the sloppy internet connection. ;-) Confirmation email received, thanks!

I love the promo video, that was hilarious.
I tried signing up and consistent with the complaints of a happy little “success” signification, my request seemed suspended in cyberspace. However, we’ve been having messy weather down here, and I didn’t get a confirmation email. Could you give me an average of how long a confirmation email would take to be sent out? Or should I redo my sign-up?
As for the enthusiasm portion of this thread…*confetti* Whoot! I was criminally oblivious to how soon the RAT was starting because we’ve been so busy lately, and I’ll probably fail miserably this year because our busyness is going to continue, but it’s good to have that extra motivation so when spare time does spring upon me, I don’t use it up doing something else besides reading. *grins*

Considering how thick most of his books are, the man must write wicked fast. Do we have an interview or something that states where he gets his inspiration? *grins*

The aforementioned “…Book of Villains” prevailed in its disturbing-ness till the last word! The library had a companion book of Gothic tales, but now I’m not sure I should chance it…

“The Scarlet Letter” was absolutely beautiful. More people should be hailing it as one of greatest literary works out there!

Started reading aloud “The Hound of the Baskervilles” and was quickly reminded what an extensive vocabulary Doyle had. Either that or he wrote his books with a dictionary sitting right beside him.

In my absence I devoured a grand total somewhere up in the double digits, but the recent highlights are currently the third book in a homeschooling series by Charlotte Mason, the last beautiful sentences to “Les Miserables”, and “The Oxford Book of Villains” which has proved itself to be…exceedingly disturbing. I have to start “The Scarlet Letter” this afternoon for school, which shall be lovely. :-)
