MemberOh, I’ve heard of that!
Does anyone know if the so-called DRAMATIZATION (I don’t know how to do italics
) of the Kingdom Series by Chuck Black is any good? Because I only want to listen to it if it has sound effects, music and different voices. Like the Focus of the Family Radio Theatre ones.FOTF Radio Theatre is also very good; I’ve listened to Narnia, At Home in Mitford, lotsa Odyssey, At the back of the North Wind, Silas Marner, The Secret Garden, Little Women, Squanto and wanna listen to the other ones they’ve made; they’re all real good.

MemberOh yeah! I’ve only listened to a few audio books, but I liked ’em, so I need to find s’more. I’ll make an audio-book thread.
By-the-by: I LOVE Scotland and their accents! Know any good Scottish books?

MemberThankee much!
Pip
MemberNo, I didn’t know there WAS a sequel! That’s exciting…
Heaven forbid that I should ever run outta good things to read! Gee, when that happens, I’ll resort to reading me own writing!
Pip
MemberYeah, I believe it’s Aldrich. I loved that book! It reminded me of AoGG and Bambi (very good, also).
I don’t usually write down what I’ve read but not finished, unless I’m bored with journaling and groping for topics!
That would be too embarrasing…April 1: Read outta Fellowship of the Ring.
December 30: Finished Fellowship.
See, I read what I feel like when I feel like it (unless it’s a school book), so some books don’t pull me into them until months later!

MemberIt’s about this guy who is given the chance to see what his life will be like if he does not accept God’s mercy, and then he’s given the chance to mend his ways; it’s got a surprise ending! It’s in modern times, so it’s not a fantasy…but it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read and really worthwhile. A wonderful tear-jerker!
Pip
MemberI’ve started the fourth book. I love how she describes things, like the comfy things in life, the dreadful atrocities and the delicious feelings…I wish I could write like that!
I’ve only seen the two-VHS adaptations of AoGG, and AoA and they were good…the latter was based on the director’s whims, tho’.
Pip
MemberOoh yeah, Jack Prelutsky is pretty good! I liked his For Laughing Out Loud book.
See, poetry’s not so bad! *throws closest thing handy at jordan*
Pip
MemberHow do you like it? I think I liked Kidnapped better.
Pip
MemberCoolness, Alassiel! I write down the date and if something big happens that day, like a B-day or something like that.
Yeah, I have, like, 60 books on me two fav. shelves…but here are a few:
Narnia series
Redwall series
Carry On, Mr. Bowditch
The Door Within
Little Women
The Little White Horse
The Mitford series
A Lantern in her Hand
Mere Christianity
A Cricket in Times Square
Prydain Chronicles (only the first and third made it to the honorable fav. shelf!)
Caddie Woodlawn
Count of Monte Cristo
The Golden Goblet
The Bronze Bow
Charlotte’s Web
Betsy and the Emperor
Need I say more?
Pip
MemberGood heavens! Like I always say to oppresive things that I hear about: “I should protest!”
I loved the Bastables’s uncle in the movie, he was cool.

MemberOff-Topic Tomfoolery: Bashing you over the head? WHAT is? Do you often feel rebellious, m’dear?!
Pip
MemberLol!
I really loved the part in the…first book? where Aidan tramped down the stairs and ended with a big THUD, because I do the exact same thing.
I recently spent the night with a friend who loves the series as much as I do, and we did a thing where one would read aloud into a tape recorder, and the other do sound effects to go along with the readings! We came up with some really funny ones:
“Grampin wheeled into the kitchen” *car tires squealing*, “and stopped at the table.” *brake sounds used vehemently, a crash*
