MemberI think the author meant for the reader to realize that you should be yourself (or, in our case, be who God is calling us to be) even when it means going against the norm or getting exiled for it (Christian persecution!), but when the time comes that the norm realizes, if even a little, that what we were doing made our lives all the richer and more exciting, we should readily forgive them and enourage them to do the same.
Pip
MemberAAAAHHHH! I dunno why but they scare me! *runs off*
Pip
MemberI finished Do Hard Things and read the cheesy widdle Adam and the Golden Cock (don’t ask).
Pip

MemberSassajes, I LUVES that!! I was wondering whether anyone noticed but yeah, it celebrates Most Glorious Randomness.
Aly, your friends must be of another world. Either that, or obsessively hyked up on chocolate.
Has anyone ever heard the band Switchfoot? Typically, I don’t like rock music (gives me a headache and makes me nervous) but I’d recorded a CD of theirs for my older sis’s CD and I’ve been listening to it. They have brave lyrics, that’s fer sure. At least this album does. Speaking of bands, I heard a live performance of Rush of Fools on the radio. Uhm…so I thought ok, this’ll be nice to hear them perform live…uh-uh. He was off-key the whole time!!! Even I noticed, and I shudder to think what my used-to-be-a-music-major Mom woulda said of ’em.
Oh man, frozen cranberry cookies! Heaven. We make something kinda like that called Buckwheatie Bars. We dehydrate buckwheat and mix in all sorts of dried fruits, and then freeze ’em. Dad takes ’em ta work, but I loik ’em too.
We got our new juicer today!!! I’m inclined to suggest the placement of carrot juice right up thar wi. root beer! (And that’s sayin’ a lot)
Our puppy, Tootsie Roll, came in all muddy today, that was loverly.
I’m hosting a book discussion on Do Hard Things on my blog in January, non-members of HSB are welcome to attend!
Speaking of blogs, I frequently post pictures of my family and me on there, so if anyone’s dying to know what I look like, that’s the place ta go.

We got a weird teen magazine today with all sorts of gals that needed “decorating” *evil laughs* but on one page were these brown suede lace-up boots that one only sees in LotR or Eragon. Glorious!!!

MemberIt got more interesting when I started doing the dates when I finished the books, cause I have holidays and special family occasions, and important dates in my life.
Pip
MemberUnless I become a villain on here like I am on the Inklings writing blog…*is thoughtful*
Pip
MemberThat’s…nice and logical.
I actually collect socks! I have dozens of pairs now: fuzzy, thick, but mostly standard with all assortment of prints. I don’t much like slippers, never can remember to wear ’em. I do have these gray shoe-slipper thangs that are so warm!
I shall haveta try cranberries in chocolate. Let us never be deprived!
Lest we actually git ON-TOPIC…*gasps*…
My little sister (I call her Garbonzo Bean or G.B. onmy blog likes Ranch dressing on everything. Corny dogs, pizza rolls, pancakes (I think), millions of other thangs and I think it’s awful!
Pip
MemberVDT somehow seemed slapped together, at least a bit more scatterbrained than the other ones. But I can’t account for anyone not liking The Silver Chair…
Pip
MemberOhohohoho! The suspense is killin’ me here!
But then, I shall probably haveta wait until all the riffraff watch it from Netflix. *settles down to wait*
Pip
MemberCranberries in chocolate? *barf*
I love fuzzy socks; how bout y’all???
I’ve also decided to adore Hoops and YoYo free ecards!!
Pip
MemberOh, reviewing isn’t that bad. I actually useta write reviews on (nearly) every book I read and posted them on the fridge for Mom to keep up with my literary pursuits, but I got so voracious that I finally stopped and just gave her oral reviews.
I did indeed start Tortured for Christ and finished The Gammage Cup! I have, mebbe, twenty books to read right now! *comfy sigh*
Pip
MemberYay! I finished the book! I really liked it, it was happy and lush and posed interesting questions without being preachy or unpleasant.
I’m not gonna read the second book unless I stunmble across it in the library. I’d rother have a happy picture of the Land Between the Mountains in my ‘ead!
