Yeah, I didn’t think the Amazon previews counted. :P

The book feeling can’t be beat at all, although I haven’t tried an e-book reader, so I can’t really speak with authority. *wants to get his hands on a Kindle*

How many is lots and lots? If the book was at, above, or around your reading level, then you can count whatever the page count is. Plus, full-page illustrations aren’t usually counted in the page count of a book by the publisher, so they are probably already not in the page count.

I have never read an e-book, exactly. Does reading the preview on Amazon count? :P

Oops. Sorry, I always get Sweeney Todd mixed up with There Will Be Blood, which came out around the same time. Both sounded Burton-esque, so I confuse them.

And staying true to the book’s essence can mean a lot of things. Think Prince Caspian.

Oh, and Tim Burton did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (new one). How’d he do with that?

But most of those aren’t the big, thick, complicated, intelligent-sounding books that come to mind when one says “classics.”

Yes, we do need to remember that a lot of books are considered classics that are actually the enjoyable, light-hearted ones!

    LoL, let me see…

I read Moby Dick for school, unabridged, and I absolutely was bored to death.

But The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is wonderful!

Oh dear, that sounds nasty. Tim Burton directed, among other things, such films as The Nightmare Before Christmas, some R-rated horror flick last year, and The Corpse Bride. *shudders at the thought of a creepy Wonderland*

It’s about a Roman, uh, legionary? who wants to recapture the flag of his father’s? regiment, to regain honor for his family. (somebody who’s read it recently could probably summarize a bit better)

Ooh, yes. I need to go back and try some of her books again. Eagle of the Ninth was awesome when my mom read it to my family a long time ago.
