This is a link to a good Christian site’s review of Ember, I dunno if anyone saw yet.

The kids are so smart! It’s like “Oh, now how did they think of that?” I heard somewhere that they get older and smarter as the books progress; how many are there?

(I just noticed the title for this thread, very creative!)

Ooh, I plan to read others! The first one is a bit slow but it picks up. I was mad that the uncle was a short fat little man… I actually picked that first book for one of our read-alouds not that long ago and Dad liked it.

    Hear, hear to Aly!!! :D

Take a book along wherever you go.

Multitask! (ugh…) Read a book and do something else at the same time!

Have several books going at the same time and/or check out reviews so when you wanna read and you know what you feel like reading, you’ll have a book in mind. I juggle about ten books, only 6 of them active right now!

Totally Off-Topic: I now have 500 posts on this site!!!

Peter Jackson had some fight with somebody and now’s he’s not directing the Hobbit movie…or, so I hear. T’would be most glorious if one of you knew otherwise!

But I’ve never bothered to see the cartoon one so I’m looking forward to this one.

We have those books! I think my older sister read them but Mom read The Story of the World books by Susan Bauer aloud to me. I also read A Child’s History of the World or something like that, we just call it “the Hillyer (sp) book”. Next week I’m going to start reading the huge and demandingly ominous Kingfisher history book! It’s just heavy, actually it’s only 745 pages or somewhere there.

I remember when I went on a all-things-Lloyd-Alexander thing and read one of those Vesper Holly books, but it was out of order and I didn’t get it!

I finish A Parcel of Patterns today!

Oh yes, Mo is incorrigible. I think Dustfinger was the only character I really liked. He’s unique! Basta *doesn’t remember whether he was in book 2* was rother intresting as well, but not my favorite.

I’m not sure about this book I’ve started, called Voices After Midnight by Something Peck. It may turn out to be twaddle!
